Cheyenne, WY -- Right to Life of Wyoming, the pro-life group representing about 10,000 families across the state, has announced its endorsement of Cynthia Lummis for the Republican primary for Congress.
The following statement about the endorsement can be attributed to RTLW president Steven Ertelt:
"Right to Life of Wyoming is proud to stand behind Cynthia Lummis and her bid for Congress. As a member of Congress she will vote on important issues ranging from taxpayer funding of abortions to parental involvement for teenagers. We trust Lummis to represent the common sense pro-life views of most Wyoming residents who want reasonable limits on abortion.
We also are confident that Lummis will vote against the extreme Freedom of Choice Act that pro-abortion presidential candidate Barack Obama supports. That's the bill that would make unlimited abortions throughout pregnancy a nationwide law and would overturn every abortion limit our state legislature has approved. The people of Wyoming should determine our own abortion laws and not have Washington wipe off the books the bills we pass in our legislature. Lummis understands that concern."
Last week, Right to Life of Wyoming endorsed Senator John McCain for president.
Right to Life of Wyoming has local chapters across the state from Cheyenne, Rawlins and Rock Springs to Jackson, Cody and Gillette. It is the state affiliate of the National Right to Life Committee.
